Using a Quilt to Preserve a Log Home

a historic log cabin

In Iowa, the Drakesville Park Board is asking for the community’s help to preserve a log cabin just outside of Drakesville.

Today, the cabin is found to be in great need of repair. According to the committee, there are a lot of logs that need to be replaced, cement pillars to be installed and wooden shingles to be fixed. The board has set up a fundraising event and volunteers are asked to create 14-inch by 14-inch log cabin quilt blocks. It takes around 36 blocks to come up with a king-sized quilt.
