Rebuilding of Log Cabin at Northside Park

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event was held for the rebuilding of a historic log cabin at Northside Park in Philadelphia after it was destroyed by a tornado last April 2011. The tornado caused incredible damage and destroyed some exterior walls of some structures in Northside Park.

The log cabin was built in the 1940s for use as the public library at Philadelphia High School before it was moved to Northside Park. It was also rebuilt in the 80’s after it was burned.

Philadelphia officials and the Department of Archives and History helped get the cabin back to its former glory. Now, the building can be rented for small groups.
