Quilt Project to Save a Log Cabin

Back in 1848 Mormon travelers built a log cabin just outside of Drakesville. They built it in order to get some supplies for their journey. That log cabin was used by a family for three generations before it was donated to the city. Now the cabin is in disrepair and a unique way of saving it is under way.

According to an article from ottumwacourier.com, “Volunteers are being asked to create 14-inch by 14-inch Log Cabin quilt blocks in a variety of color combinations. Once donated, they will be assembled into a quilt, which will be raffled off, possibly at the Davis County Old Soldiers and Settlers Reunion in July.”
