Hartsville Log Cabin Home Destroyed by Fire

A log cabin home on County Road in the Hartsville area

A log cabin home on County Road in the Hartsville area was destroyed by a fire at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The family members were left homeless but no one was injured in the fire.

According to Hartsville Fire Department, firefighters were called to a flue fire but when they arrived at the scene, they found the roof fully engulfed in flames. The log cabin had stone siding and a double roof, also making the fire harder to battle.

Chief of the Hartsville Fire Department said the house was about 85% percent destroyed and caused about $200,000 in damage.
